Waar gaat deze richtlijn over?

Deze richtlijn richt zich op wat volgens de huidige maatstaven de beste zorg is voor kinderen met koemelkallergie. In de richtlijn komen de volgende onderwerpen aan de orde:

    • Bij welke klachten en bevindingen bij lichamelijk onderzoek aan koemelkallergie gedacht moet worden
    • Welke kunstvoeding het meest geschikt is bij kinderen waarnaar onderzoek wordt gedaan of ze een koemelkallergie hebben of niet
    • Wat de gewenste en ongewenste effecten van de provocatietesten zijn bij onderzoek naar koemelkallergie
    • Wanneer het wenselijk of vereist is dat een patiënt verwezen wordt naar een diëtist als er onderzoek wordt gedaan naar koemelkallergie
    • Waar en hoe de provocatietesten voor koemelkallergie het beste kunnen worden gedaan: thuis, bij de huisarts/consultatiebureau of in een ziekenhuis
    • Hoe de communicatie tussen de ouders, behandelaars onderling (huisarts, jeugdarts, kinderarts en diëtist) moet verlopen om het onderzoekstraject goed te doorlopen

 

Voor wie is deze richtlijn bedoeld?

Deze richtlijn is bestemd voor alle zorgverleners die betrokken zijn bij de zorg voor kinderen met een koemelkallergie.

 

Voor patiënten

Koemelkallergie is een allergie voor eiwitten die in koemelk zitten. Een allergie is een abnormale reactie van het immuunsysteem op een onschuldige stof. Koemelkallergie komt vooral op de zuigelingenleeftijd voor, maar kan ook bij oudere kinderen voor komen. Kinderen met een koemelkallergie krijgen klachten als ze iets eten of drinken waar koemelkeiwit in zit. Deze klachten kunnen zijn: huiduitslag, maag- en darmproblemen, en luchtwegproblemen. Koemelkallergie komt bij 1 tot 3 procent van de kinderen voor.

Hoe is de richtlijn tot stand gekomen?

Het initiatief voor deze richtlijn is afkomstig van Nederlandse Vereniging voor Kindergeneeskunde (NVK). De richtlijn is opgesteld door een multidisciplinaire commissie met vertegenwoordigers vanuit de kinderartsen, huisartsen, diëtisten, epidemiologen en artsen jeugdgezondheidszorg. De patiëntenverenigingen Stichting Voedselallergie en het Nederlands Anafylaxis Netwerk zijn benaderd voor commentaar. Deze commentaren zijn verwerkt in de uiteindelijke versie.
