I: Non-pharmacological interventions: cognitive rehabilitation therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, psychoeducation, (temporary) admission to a structured department, environmental interventions to prevent overstimulation

2. What are the effects of pharmacological interventions on hallucinatory- and/or delusional behaviour in adult patients with thinking and/or perception disorders after acquired brain injury?

P: Patients with thinking and/or perception disorders after acquired brain injury
I: Pharmacological interventions: atypical antipsychotics, classic antipsychotics, benzodiazepines, promethazine, antiepileptics;
C: No treatment, placebo or care as usua

Voor de cruciale uitkomstmaat hallucinatoir en-/of waanachtig gedrag was de bewijskracht uit de literatuur zeer laag, omdat er geen literatuur beschikbaar was. Daarom is er onderzoek nodig naar de effecten van zowel niet-medicamenteuze als medicamenteuze behandelingen bij patienten met denk- en/of waarnemingsstoornissen en niet-aangeboren hersenletsel (zie PICO’s). Het gaat hierbij om de genoemde vormen van medicamenteuze behandelingen, maar ook om andere (nieuwe) medicamenteuze behandelingen.
